Directions to Playas del Coco

Once in Playas del Coco, Pacifico is an ideal location to discover Costa Rica and the surrounding beaches, volcanoes and adventure activities. Then as a home base, Coco Beach, or El Coco, has conveniences for an extended stay.

There are dozens of restaurants and bars as well as bakeries, coffee shops and grocery stores. There are tour companies, dive shops, sailing charters and deep-sea fishing.

Discover Playas del Coco, Costa Rica

Downtown:
- Pacifico resort area is walking distance to shops, restaurants, bars and Coco Beach. Services in town include banks, car rental, tour operators, spas and more.
Near The Ocean:
- Pacifico is a 10-minute walk to Coco Beach and is less than a 10-minute drive to Ocotal Beach, Penca Beach and Hermosa Beach–are all four worth exploring.
Resort:
- On-site Pacifico offers pool-side food and drink service as well as grocery store, coffee shop, gym, car rental, bank, pharmacy, and restaurants.
Beachfront:
- Pacifico Beach Club is on Coco Beach with two infinity pools, excellent food and drink service. Shuttle service available to and from the condo to Pacifico Beach Club.

Snorkeling in Playa Penca

There is a small undeveloped beach a short drive from Pacifico. Once you reach the gate of the Playa Penca reserve, there is a guard who will take your name and car tag number.

Then drive until the bumpy road ends. A 4×4 is needed to reach the last parking area at Playa Penca. From the parking area, the path to the beach begins between a few boulders. Walk down the path about 6-7 minutes to the beach. It is undeveloped and there are no bathrooms or supplies. You should take water and do not leave valuables unattended.

Playa Ocotal

Playa Ocotal is a 12-minute drive. There is a good beach bar and restaurant, Father Rooster’s.

Playa Hermosa

Playa Hermosa is a nice beach with a number of bars and restaurants. We like La Casita del Marisco on the beach. Ginger is a nice restaurant, reservations recommended.

Flying into Liberia LIR Airport

There are direct international flights into Liberia, Costa Rica, on most carriers. You can fly on American, Avianca, Delta, Emirates, JetBlue, AirFrance/KLM, United, Sun Country and Southwest from the United States (Los Angeles, Charlotte, Dallas, Miami, Minneapolis, Atlanta, New York, Baltimore, Houston, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Newark); as well as on Air Canada, Air Transat, WestJet and SunWing to/from Canada (Calgary, Toronto, Montreal, Edmonton and Vancover). There are also flights to/from Mexico City, Mexico (AeroMexico); London, UK (TUI); Amsterdam, The Netherlands (KLM) and Panama City, Panama (Copa).
